100 Days of Resistance to Trump’s Agenda
January 20th – May 1st
MCAT and our endorsing organizations are organizing 100 days of opposition to Trump’s plans for his first 100 days in office. Events and actions throughout the first 100 days are designed to educate, organize, and resist the Trump agenda.
March 5th, 2017 – Solidarity March and Call to Action; Selma’s Bloody Sunday
March will begin on Sherman Boulevard and Auer Avenue and end at The Body and Soul Healing Arts Center, 3617 N. 48th Street
Join UBLAC Milwaukee as we stand and march in solidarity wth Sisters in Synergy and thousands of influential women in the fields of politics, entertainment, education and entrepreneurship to take part in the celebration and commemoration of The Bloody Sunday, The Selma-to-Montgomery March and the Voting Rights Act of 1965!
This will serve as a the beginning and meeting point for women in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas to come together, build, equip, connect, and educate Black communities with resources and opportunities that will help provide a sustainable environment free from oppressive systems.
UBLAC, Uplifting Black Liberation and Community is a coalition led by Black Women, Queer, and Trans* folx working towards Black liberation with people of African heritage in Milwaukee to give the tools necessary to resist oppression.

Celebrate women’s leadership in the fight against donald trump’s racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, anti-worker agenda and the historical resiliency of women who have been at the front lines of struggle of people’s movements.
The event will feature:
* Speakers from Freedom Road Socialist Organization
* A speaker representing the Milwaukee Coalition Against Trump
* Childcare available
* Food available for donation and drinks available for sale
March 8th, 2017 – Women on Strike! – International Women’s Day
5pm – U.S. Federal Court House – 517 E Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee
Join us in solidarity for the Womens Strike in Milwaukee which is part of the International Womens Strike, A Day Without Women on Wed March 8 at 5 PM to 7 PM. The rally will take place at the Federal Courthouse on 517 EAST Wisconsin ave in Milwaukee.
We are bringing together women leaders in most of the current movements to talk about each group’s victories, challenges and how we can all help each other’s movement.
We are striking for:
$15 and a Union, Black Lives Matter, Mothers of the Movement, Standing Rock, Free Palestine, Mexican and Muslim Immigrants, Planned Parenthood, Peace on Earth, An End to US War on the Poor, An End to US bombing 7 countries, No More Child Welfare CPS tearing poor families apart
March 10th, 2017 – Indigenous People’s March in MKE Against the Proposed Pipelines

At the request of the community, Water Protectors of Milwaukee is hosting a sister rally to the Indigenous People’s March in DC on March 10th. Now more than ever, we need all of our Indigenous and Rainbow Warriors to gather together to protect and pray for our Mother. We honor the sovereignty of all natives to practice right relationship to the Earth as a religious freedom. We march in solidarity and gratitude for all who answered the call to donate or protect at Standing Rock. We call to everyone who loves the Great Lakes to join us by Grandmother Michigan to pray for all waters of this nation. We honor the wisdom of our indigenous leaders who hold the key to helping us get back into balance with the earth. We march for the two-legged, the four-legged, those that swim and those that fly. For the mountains, waters, plants and trees, for all our relatives.
March 12th, 2017 – Bystander Intervention Training with MCAT

The Milwaukee Coalition Against Trump is hosting ongoing bystander intervention trainings. The training will focus on ways to intervene in public instances of racist, anti-immigrant, sexist, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic, anti-Trans, and other forms of oppressive interpersonal violence and harassment while considering the safety of all parties. The physical and vocal practice of various strategies is designed to change social norms and encourage people to find ways to interrupt violence and prevent further harm.
Parking: the closest street parking is on N. Downer Ave. and side streets. UWM has a parking structure for a nominal cost.

March 15th, 2017 – UWM: Our University Campaign Demand Delivery
3pm – UWM Spaights Plaza
A campus wide march on administration to deliver a letter of three demands to ensure the safety and integrity of the UWM community. These demands prioritize the protection of the LGBTQ+ community through Gender-Affirming policies; the protection of immigrant and international students through a Sanctuary Campus Resolution; and the protection of multicultural and accessibility resource centers through continued mandatory funding.
April 15th, 2017 – Rally to release Trump’s tax returns
11am – Milwaukee County Courthouse
Donald Trump has repeatedly said he would release his taxes after his IRS audit, but has decided he will no longer do so because nobody cares. Let’s show him that We The People expect financial transparency. We will hold him and his administration accountable! This is one of many direct actions taking place across the country.
April 30th, 2017 – Dontre Day
The remembrance of Dontre Hamilton and the continuing struggle for justice. Dontre was shot 14 times and killed in Red Arrow Park by the Milwaukee Police Department on this day in 2014. No charges have been brought against his murderer, former officer Christopher Manney.

In preparation for the multitude of protests, we will discuss how to show up as a white activist in black movement spaces. Reading to be discussed is “Dear Fellow White People” by John Costello.

MCAT is hosting a mass march and rally on Trump’s inauguration day. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people will join protests across the country and in Washington D.C. to protest Trump and his agenda. The January 20th protest will officially kick off our “100 Days of Resistance” to put up opposition to Trump’s plans for his first 100 days in office.

Students for a Democratic Society will hold a national student walkout demanding free tuition and equal access to education for Black, Chicano, Latino and specifically undocumented students. We demand sanctuary campuses everywhere, the preservation of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and an end to deportations.

We usually pull from a range of traditions sharing both knows chants and songs (and sometimes creating a few our own) This month, seeing the challenges that we are facing as a nation, we are inviting activist to come join us in sharing and learning song we can all pass on to energize and empower our movement of healing and protecting our democracy, our earth and each other. Join us for a night of music, poerty and community as we gather to raise funds and collect books for LGBT Books to Prisoners. The evening will be MC’d by SunShine Ramel. A full list of performers will be announced soon. There is a $6 – $12 cover collected at the door. No one will be turned away. All funds collected at the door will go directly to LGBT Books to Prisoners.
